Saweetie And Doja Cat Drop New Cinematic Girl Anthem Called Best Friend

Ready for a new female rap anthem? Saweetie has dropped her brand new single, “Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat, accompanied by a luxurious female-empowering music video, watch below.

“Best Friend” follows Saweetie’s single and music video for “Back To The Streets” with Jhene Aiko, a first glimpse at what’s to expect on her forthcoming album. As for Doja Cat, she’s been continuously teasing her upcoming project online using the hashtag #PLANETHER2021 across social media.

“Best Friend” is just what we need to escape reality for a minute, a female rap anthem for the girls! “Drive her own car, she don’t need no Lyft,” Saweetie raps on the beat.

Previously leaked, we’re glad Doja and Saweetie were able to finally release their latest banger! Last month on the 4th of December, the song was released against the rapper’s wishes, prompting her to address the Icy Gang on social media. “I am extremely disappointed in my label WBR for prematurely releasing a single I was so excited about,” she wrote. ” I feel disrespected. I’m hands on with ALL of my creative & had such a dope rollout for ‘best friends’. The thirst for clout & $ is real & it overrides the artists’ art.” A few minutes later, she continued by confirming the leaked song was the “wrong version” and shared how much time and effort went into perfecting it. “We put so much work into the visual & we shot for days for this super cinematic girl anthem. And for this to happen? wow….”
